The liability of the driver of a motor vehicle in a third country if he/she causes property and/or non-material damage to third parties. The certificate shall be recognized by the authorities of all countries belonging to the Green Card system as a document certifying that its holder has the minimum required limits of liability to third parties required by law in the visited country.

Territorial Validity

The Green Card certificate is optional for travel in the European Economic Area (EEA), Andorra, Switzerland and Serbia.

The Green Card Certificate is required when traveling to third countries of the system, namely:

Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Belarus, the Republic of Macedonia, Israel, Iran, Montenegro, Morocco, Russia, Moldova, Tunisia, Turkey, Jakarta, and Azerbaijan.

Important! Kosovo is not a member of the Green Card system.

Drivers of Bulgarian registered vehicles crossing this territory should obtain Third Party Liability Insurance valid for Kosovo at the border checkpoint on entry.

Green Card Certification Premium The Green Card certificate is issued together with the Third Party Motor Liability Insurance Policy without any additional premium or other payment by the user of the insurance services.
