Withdrawal of dangerous and defective products

The policy covers costs or other expenses and payments incurred by the insured or a third party in connection with the market withdrawal of a given product(s) defined in the insurance contract.

The insurance covers all expenses incurred in connection with the withdrawal of a product(s), such as:

  • expenses for information and contact with end consumers (distributors), including expenses for media announcements (expenses for press, radio, TV, Internet announcements, including expenses for the relevant correspondence)

  • expenses for sorting withdrawn end products

  • expenses for the identification of a defective product (i.e. expenses for identifying which withdrawn products measures should be applied for),
  • review to establish which withdrawn products actually require implementation of risk elimination measures; this includes also expenses for any product sorting or re-packaging required;

  • adequate transport and travel expenses related to the transportation of products subject to withdrawal (to the insured or another location pursuant to the insured person’s decision in order to take appropriate measures for prevention of possible losses),

  • expenses for storage of the withdrawn defective product for a maximum period

  • other, subject to agreement
