Insurance intermediaries

Insurance intermediaries

Professional Liability Insurance of Insurance Brokers is obligatory for any insurance broker or insurance agent, called general insurance intermediaries.

What coverage does this insurance provide?

This insurance provides protection against claims for damages resulting from a culpable breach of professional obligations of the insurance intermediary and/or their employees in the course of, or in connection with, performing insurance and/or reinsurance mediation activities.

The insurer shall consider and indemnify claims filed against the insured for the first time in writing during the term of the insurance,

provided that events on the basis of which the claims were made occurred after the date of commencement of the insurance.

The territorial scope of insurance also includes damage occurring within the territory of the European Union and the European Economic Area.

Insurance protection can be extended by signing the Retroactive Action cover. This policy specifies a retroactive date that precedes the insurance start date, for example, by one year. On this basis, the insurer shall consider and indemnify claims which have been filed within the term of the insurance but are based on events occurring after the retroactive date entered in the policy.
