Trip Cancellation Insurance – Now with Covid-19 Coverage!
Would you like to avoid financial losses from cancellation penalties and get your money back for unused services if you have to cancel a trip?
If your answer is "Yes", then Trip Cancellation insurance is just right for you!
Planning and organizing a trip is usually associated with pleasant emotions, exciting encounters and interesting adventures. Unfortunately, things can sometimes go wrong and the trip may ultimately have to be canceled. The current epidemic situation adds even more uncertainty and makes organizing a trip, whatever its purpose, a real challenge.
To feel calmer and more secure, and to save yourself a lot of worry, time and money due to unforeseen circumstances, including events related to Covid-19, we recommend that you learn more about Trip Cancellation insurance.
Trip Cancellation insurance allows you to recover prepaid expenses incurred in connection with a leisure or business trip that cannot be refunded by the tour operator, hotelier, carrier or other related partners.
The main events covered by the insurance are:
• Sudden illness, accident or death of the Insured.
Sudden illness or accident requiring inpatient or home treatment, or death, of a close relative of the Insured.
• Material damage to the Insured's home or to the premises in which they carry out commercial, professional or production activities, as a result of fire, burglary or natural disasters, the seriousness of which requires their presence there.
• Transport strikes that were not known or expected at the time the insurance was purchased.
• Quarantine imposed by the health authorities on the insured person or on a close relative who lives with the insured person or who is insured under the same insurance contract for the same trip, as a result of a laboratory-confirmed case of Covid-19, provided that no more than 14 days remain until the trip start date.
• Home treatment or hospitalization of the insured person or of a close relative insured under the same insurance contract for the same trip, as a result of a laboratory-confirmed case of Covid-19, provided that no more than 28 days remain until the trip start date.
• Refusal by the carrier to board the insured person, or a close relative insured under the same insurance contract for the same trip, onto the means of transport specified in the booking document due to:
▪ elevated body temperature measured by the carrier before departure, or
▪ a laboratory-confirmed case of Covid-19.
• Death of the insured person as a result of a confirmed case of Covid-19.
• Death of a close relative of the insured person as a result of a confirmed case of Covid-19, occurring no more than 90 days before the trip start date.
An important point about this type of insurance is that most insurance companies require the policy to be purchased on the day of booking, when the first payment (advance or full) for the trip is made.
The insurance can be purchased if at least 10 days remain between the booking and the trip start date.
We will be happy to answer all your questions about Trip Cancellation insurance, as well as tell you about all other coverages that can be purchased for the trip itself.
