Type of insurance:

Bicycle insurance – covers damage to bicycles and electric bicycles as a result of fire; vandalism; loss or damage to a bicycle as a result of an accident; theft by burglary from locked premises; theft by burglary from a bicycle parking or other suitable place for a bicycle, etc.

Whom to notify?

In the event of bicycle theft, the nearest police station should be notified and a police report requested. If the damaged chain is found, it must be preserved! In the case of an accident where there are no injuries and alcohol is suspected, a two-way statement of findings must be completed with the other driver. In other cases, the traffic police must be notified and a report issued.

Notification time limits:

In the event of an insured event, the Insured shall: Within 24 hours of becoming aware of the occurrence of an event covered under the terms of the insurance policy, notify the fire brigade and/or the police and/or other competent authorities where the nature of the insured event so requires. At the same time, notify the Insurer in writing within three (3) business days of becoming aware, retaining the damaged property for inspection by representatives of the Insurer.
