Private liability for persons using firearms’ insurance can be taken out by every person who has a permit to carry and use firearms. They can insure their liability in relation to using firearms for self-protection as well as using firearms for hunting.

Who is obliged to take out the insurance?
Legal persons or sole proprietors falling into one of the following groups:

  • Engaged in security activity involving the use of firearms or
  • Those who control a specialized security team

Are obliged to insure their employees who use firearms in the course of fulfilling their professional duties. The person taking out the insurance is insurer while his employees are insured.

What is the insurance protection provided by the insurance?

The insurance covers indemnity claims laid by third parties who have suffered bodily harm (including also such that has led to death) or their property (possessions) have been damaged or destroyed as a result of use of firearms by the insured.

Apart from directly caused damages to be included are also all court expenses made by the insured when the claim against him has been laid through the court as for example expenses for legal protection, court fees and payments to experts.

If the insured has taken measures for limiting the damages, the expenses purposefully made by him in relation to these measures are also to be refunded by the insurer.
